Green Rose is a remake of the 2005 Korean drama, Green Rose produced by SBS and was distributed in the Philippines by ABS-CBN. The remake stars Jericho Rosales as Jerome Delgado, Anne Curtis as Angela Tuazon, Jake Cuenca as Edward Fuentebuella and Alessandra de Rossi as Geena Rallos.

The two fell in love while spending a night in the woods after the vehicle broke down for a shipping assignment. Given the circumstances, Jerome is framed for the attempted murder of his girlfriend's father, flees and returns a different person longing to unravel the truth and exact revenge.

This is a story of two opposing worlds…two opposing families, bounded by lies, betrayals and shocking secrets. Alexander Del Tierro (Coco Martin) was born into a family with a strong military background, while Javier (Coco Martin) was raised in the mountain based community of the rebels. Soon after graduation from the military academy, and bent on proving himself to his stern grandfather, Alexander accepts deployment in the territory of the rebels. In one battle, Alexander and Javier come face to face in a life changing encounter. Are they long lost brothers or are they twins? Alexander and Javier enter into a pact, they decide to keep their meeting a secret and they soon embark on an investigation tracing their roots in pursuit of the truth of their real identities. They even switch places to get to know each other’s personal lives with the families they grew up in. But as they push much deeper into unfamiliar territory, the line between family and duty begins to blur. The truth that they wanted to realize becomes their worst nightmare, as it threatens to ruin everyone and everything that is important in their lives. The story began with Alvira and Gary being former lovers. Alvira received a scholarship which required her to study in the States, this put a strain to her relationship with Gary which caused them to end the relationship. Gary was very heart broken. While Alvira was in the States, Gary spent majority of his time with his childhood friend, Susan. Years later when Alvira finished her studies, she returned to the Philippines. Gary was very excited to see Alvira again but to his dismay, she is already engaged to be married to a wealthy businessman Amante del Valle. Gary was furious about this news and drank his sorrows which led him to spend a night of passion with his childhood friend Susan. Later on Susan became pregnant by Gary which cause Lupe (Gary's mother), to blame her. When Alvira and Susan born their child, Gary started his plan, to take revenge at Amante for stealing her love one, he wants to kidnap Alvira's child, but he was jailed because he was caught selling drugs, because of this, Karlo, his younger brother, continued the plan as Gary ordered. He switched Susan and Alvira's babies. Alvira's baby, was brought up to Susan and Gary while Susan's baby, was brought up to Alvira and Amante. Alvira's baby, was named Mara by Susan while Susan's baby, was named Clara by Amante and Alvira. All these events were recorded in Karlo's diary.
